All our staff are fully trained and hold certificates to carry out their duties in personal track safety, Control of Site Safety, Lookout, operating lorry mounted cranes, forklifts, working under the client’s protection against train movements.

We operate under possessions such as days, nights and weekend working; whenever the client’s wishes to recover the line-side scrap materials to ensure safety first. All our plant and machinery is kept up to date and to Network Rail standards.

K J Bownes & Sons, alongside all the directors, combines all these activities with an innovative approach to ensure that standards are maintained and kept at a high and to make sure all projects are carried out with method statements and risk assessments to comply with Health and Safety and environment issues and within the time set out to complete the work contracted.
